International recording star Joe Jonas vies for love on THE CHOICE - and AD  got the exclusive first look.

Filmed in front of a live audience, each episode begins with four of the world’s most eligible bachelors sitting in rotating chairs, turning their backs on love and unable to see the sexy singles looking for a date with fame. In this initial “Blind Round,” each celebrity can only use his suitors’ voices – as they share information about their life, passions, turn-ons and turn-offs – to help himself make THE CHOICE.  When the celebrity bachelor likes what he hears, he pulls his “love handle,” spinning his chair around to bring him face-to-face for the first time with his potential mate. If more than one celebrity pulls the handle, they must battle it out for her affection until the sexy single gets THE CHOICE to pick whose dating pool she wants to swim in.

Joe Jonas will be sitting next to Seth Wescott, Parker Young and Mike Catherwood in this new episode of THE CHOICE airing Thursday, June 14 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

9. The Choice (Fox)
When it’s on: Thursdays starting June 7
Who’s in it: Pauly D, some football players, Joe Jonas, Carmen Electra, and a bunch of other people you won’t remember in five years.
What it’s about: This dating show rip-off of The Voice features male faux-lebrities choosing women to court based solely on the sound of their voice and the disgusting sexual innuendo of their simple-minded words. And just to prove that men can be just as desperate, the roles will be swapped after a few episodes. This is going to be a complete train wreck and is our top pick for “guilty pleasure that will last three episodes.” It’s cool to anticipate total failure, right?

Manila Standard Today: That Jonas brother by joejonasnews
May 29, 2012, 4:03 pm
Filed under: Joe Jonas | Tags: ,

When Joe Jonas enters the room, he has a smile for everyone seated before a long table, mostly female members of the press. He makes an effort to go around the room, shake everyone’s hand and say that person’s name while saying hello.

Joe, who teenagers will know as one-third of the very popular Jonas Brothers, just arrived in Manila on a 16-hour flight from the United States via Guam.

“I have Filipino friends back home. I am looking forward to bragging to my brothers about being here,” said Joe, who was in town to hold a series of shoes at the Ayala Malls.

Ayala Malls, the premiere lifestyle and shopping destination continuously shapes the lifestyle of Filipinos with Style Origin. This month, fashion and music collide as Ayala Malls brings American singer and actor Joe Jonas for a series of performances for Style Origin.

Cultivating local style and making it known to the global platform, Style Origin redefines and elevates the retail experience with a series of unique lifestyle events, showing the best of local and foreign talents, only Ayala Malls can combine. A synergy of beauty, fashion, and music, Style Origin aims to educate Filipinos, as it shapes their lifestyle choices. Known for his innovative music and sartorial taste, Joe syncs his “Fastlife” with this year’s Style Origin, lending his style, encompassing fashion and music.

Joe shares that he has been traveling across Europe and South America for the past year. Before coming to the Philippines, he visited his brother Nick, who is working on Broadway.

Joe started working on solo material in early 2010 with the intention of combining the sounds and atmospheres of music he loves the most—Pop/Dance, Hip-Hop, Techno and House Music.

“I wanted to make this album something a club DJ would listen to,” he says. Throughout the year and into the Spring of 2011, Jonas traveled to Miami and New York to work in the studio with Danja, and would return to Los Angeles to work with Knox and songwriter James Fauntleroy who was all praises to the teen heartthrob. “I’ve written with everybody,” says Fauntleroy, “and a lot of them have no clue what to write. But Joe, he can WRITE. Working with him, the songs come so fast and easy,” he adds.

True to his chosen genres, Jonas finds inspiration through LA and Miami club culture, checking out DJs and see how they work with the crowd, and experiencing the music and vibe varying from city to city. He hopes to bring the energy of a night club with him in this album, “as if you could bring that kickin’ club vibe to everyone coming out to the show,” he says.

Turning 21 has made a huge impact on the sound and direction of the album, a lot to do with coming of age as he says. “You’re older, you’re able to go out with your friends, kick back, dance, whatever you wanted, but just get out there and have a good time. And this is the music I associate with that feeling – it’s the sound that lifts me up.” Jonas says. He also tells he needed to push himself when it came to writing lyrics. “I realized that music is my one opportunity I have to just get out there and say something that I’ve been holding back. So I’ve been forcing myself to write really honest lyrics, which is not always easy. But this time, there’s holding nothing back. This is what I’m all about now.”

From the first electric moments of his debut single, the heartbreaking, danceable, yet soulful chart topper, ‘See no More,’ co-written with Chris Brown, to his infectious second single, ‘Just in Love,’ which debuted at number two at the iTunes video charts, Jonas has definitely discovered his new voice. His solo album, ‘Fastlife’ debuted in the Top 15 releases for the week of October 11, 2011. Praised not only by his loyal fans, he has also earned solid reviews from music critics with Entertainment Weekly saying “the JoBro lead heartthrob sheds teen-pop tremors for sensitive-guy cool on this sultry midtempo torch song.”

Aside from his accomplished musical career and steady throng of fans, Joe is also often highly regarded for his style choices, becoming a favorite of influential designers worldwide, including Simon Spurr and Calvin Klein.

“I love shoes,” he revealed. “I also love color and taking risks.”

Oh, in case anyone wants to know, Joe likes American Idol finalist Jessica Sanchez.

“My brother Frankie was the one who told me to listen to Jessica. I’d be surprised if she doesn’t win (Note: This was a day before the final results show.),” said Joe.

Article: Joe Jonas On Being A Solo Artist, Filipino Food by joejonasnews
May 29, 2012, 4:02 pm
Filed under: Joe Jonas | Tags: ,

MANILA, Philippines – Joe Jonas, member of pop trio the Jonas Brothers, has described going solo as “a journey.”

“It’s been exciting. It’s been about a year since I made the record (‘Fastlife’), and there’s been a lot of traveling. It’s a lot on me, you know, I realized how much I depend on my brothers because I’ve done this for so long with them. When I’m doing [things] by myself I was, like, I’m realizing how much I appreciate having them around,” he told “Paparazzi” host Ruffa Gutierrez in an exclusive taped one-on-one interview aired on May 26.

Online reports say that the band is currently on hiatus.

Jonas then compared being a solo artist to being a band member.

“I think it’s just a different mindset. You have to kinda speak up a little bit more. With your brothers, there’s opportunities to lean on each other and say, ‘Okay, you know what, you take this interview,’ or phoner or something like this.

“Me, personally, by myself, I had to make all these decisions and you have to really say ‘yes’ to this, or, ‘I want my stage to look like this,’ and have really a say. It’s definitely a learning process,” he said.

Jonas admitted not feeling any pressure coming from a popular group, but added, “I think I put the pressure on myself to do the best I could do and to make sure that I really focus. Luckily, I come from a family that [has] kept each other grounded for so long…”

Meanwhile, asked what it would take to impress him, the singer replied, “probably an incredible talent.”

He related, “I think I’m most impressed by people that are either musically-gifted or gifted in any way, I mean, if it’s acting [or] if it’s some sort of talent. I’ve always been impressed by… when I see fans do that, they’re like, ‘Hey, can I show you… can I sing for you?’ I’m like, ‘Sure!’

“Confidence is always impressive,” he points out.

Jonas has been in the Philippines since May 22 for his activities as local clothing brand Bench’s latest international endorser, and one thing that has left an impression on him is the local cuisine.

“I had some pork, some local fish… All the food was incredible. I’m a fan. And it’s funny because the pork was a lot smaller than us Americans are used to. I was, like, thinking that that was just the appetizer, not the whole meal,” he said.
